NARAL Endorsement
I'm sure you all have seen this Washington Post article about the NARAL non-committal to Kaine.
Commonwealth Watch thinks this is a "clear grassroots activism victory for Kilgore".
Commonwealth Conservative says "another hit to Kaine's campaign".
Folks, am I the only one who thinks this is not going to matter one bit?
I realize Kaine's base is mostly pro-choice, but I am hard pressed to believe that very many of those guys will stay home on election day. Maybe Potts will pick up a few, but I even doubt that. The democrats have never been known for having to shore up their base. Why would they start now. Warner won without it, so why does Kaine need the endorsement? I guess only time will tell.

Warner didn't need the base because he was able to reach across party lines due in part to his efforts to tap into the disatisfaction with the Gilmore Administration. I would daresay Kaine is no Warner and will have to rely much more his the Democratic Base because he will pull few conservative voters over into his camp

I agree with that. Warner certainly got lots of votes from across the aisle that Kaine has no shot at. Still, I think Republicans are kidding theirselves into thinking this will really help us out.
One thing that is interesting is Deeds getting endorsed. How is the most moderate candidate on the ticket the one with the endorsement, not the guy who is supposed to be more liberal?
Hopefully that will help McDonnell paint Deeds for the Cville liberal that he is.

Ok, lets point our the right wing hate monger that McDonnell is..please, Deeds is from Bath County, Virginia, not exactly Berkerley....you right wingers are so silly, when will the insanity stop?

I tend to agree that this is no victory for Kilgore.
NARAL has made it very clear that they would prefer to work with Kaine. So while he doesn't get the headline endorsement, he earns their tacit approval.

The reason the righty blogs are making such a fuss over this is because it plays against their script of Kaine being as liberal as you can get. The reality is, he's not, and everyone knows it. But you aren't allowed to state reality on a political cheerleading site: that would defeat the purpose of spreading a consistent message.
It will be interesting to see who the NRA endorses for AG. Deeds has a better lifetime record at the NRA than McDonnell.
