Elephant Ears

This blog is dedicated to the political happenings in the Valley and Southwest Virginia. As the the name implies, this blog will have posts based on what is heard by this elephant's (GOPer's) ears. It is also a great treat to get while at the county fair or a carnival.

Happy Thanksgiving

This kind of an open thread on what folks would like to see done in next year's assembly session.
I know Speaker Howell said they want to totally rework Medicaid, but does anyone have other ideas?

Look forward and expect to see the republicans to stand up to Kaine about the tax increase we all know he is working on. I hear before the Warner tax increase went into effect we were already out of the Red due to the improving economy. Now I understand that by the end of the next year we are looking at a $2 Billion surplus... Think maybe they might cut us a check and send the $$$ to the taxpayers?

    Brandon,
I am willing to tell you that I am ashamed to think my son went to school with you and considered you a friend. How could you forget so easily your Broadway roots?

The same way Brandon, that Matt has. By selling your soul to dishonesty in pursuit of power at the expense of your community. Can I be more clear? Do you need things spelled out more for you? Your days of prostitution, just like Matt, have just begun. I have watched you parse words over what honesty means when I know, that you know, full well what honesty and telling the truth mean. I have watched you state over and over how the person you supported for governor was the best possible person to consider, only to then condemn him as not deserving of any respect or gratitude by anyone when he didn't prevail. That Brandon is not the Broadway way. We, young man are loyal and honest here in what you must now consider hillbilly land. I voted for Kaine, and I must tell you that had he not prevailed, I would still have stated support for him. You show your weakness of character by so quickly bailing on, and condemning Kilgore. He was your candidate. Shame on you for damning him for coming up short. I have attended many football and basketball games for MY Broadway, winning and losing, and I have never stopped being loyal. You have shown that your loyalty does not fall to Broadway, or to an individual, or even to principal, but simply to the power of control by a party. I have read your blog for quite some time so I know I'm correct here. You are not the young man I thought you to be and you need to know that you are no longer welcome in my home. I do not wish to have my name splashed all over the web but I can promise you that when you do come back to visit I will surely make it very clear to you in person......
I cannot believe the person you have become.

I still support Kilgore, but he showed what a terrible candidate and what a terrible campaign was.
I still think he was the best person for the job, but I can see why many Virginians didnt.
Its after election time my friend, its time to call the spade a spade. If a were a "prostitute to power" as you say I am, I would have blamed something on our loss other than Kilgore.
Tim Kaine was a horrible choice for governor of Virginia, but alot of Virginians didnt see it that way.
I am just venting what the GOP needs to do next time around to prevent Virginia from screwing up again.

Anon, I do appreciate you pointing out my attacks on Kilgore lately. I didnt think people would take it the way you did.
    Thats for the heads up.
