New Publication

I see there is a new website taking a look at the prospects of a democratic Congress.
America Weakly is meant as a spoof of a newspaper in the future under democratic rule. Its actually not as ripping as I would have probably made it, but thats probably why I wasn't in charge of doing it. It is of course put out by the RNC.

You NOVA folks will love the graphic in the lower left hand corner of the page.

At any rate, check it out. You can either be brought to reality what may be coming soon, or you can get a good laugh; which ever is your pleasure.

P.S. Be sure to check out the features like opinion section and pick the dem leader. Its good stuff.

    How about this headline?

Yesterday, Senator George Allen embarrassed Virginians again.

This time Allen didn't say anything stupid. In fact, what he had to say was good. Too good, in fact. It was so good that it turned out it was stolen.

Asking to speak before Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL), Allen introduced an amendment to the Department of Defense appropriations bill that would provide $19 million in additional funding for the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center program, which provides treatment care and research for veterans suffering from traumatic brain injuries.

Sadly, Allen's amendment was identical in language to one that Senator Durbin was going to introduce immediately after Allen spoke with the exception of one word -- the word "will" was changed in Allen's amendment and replaced with the word "shall." Other than that, the amendments were identical -- Durbin's amendment had been printed and set to be formally introduced, Allen's bill had not been written or been placed on the docket to be introduced on the Senate floor.

    Webb Campaign

I've supported Allen however maybe the GOP needs a jolt! An Allen loss would be just that.

anon, apparently you havent seen the 10 blogs that are reporting how Allen's bill was actually propposed first and Sen Durbin specifically said in his floor speech it was Allen's bill.

Tell me again why Durbin would help his GOP foe in an election year, it this bill was in fact his own.

Furthermore, who the hell cares who proposed it? Its a good bill from best I can tell, and it has huge bipartisan support.

I'm pretty sure this has nothing to do with Durbin but rather Allen and Webb.

I agree that an Allen loss would send a message to the party. Better yet it would open up 2008 for a more social moderate to take the party to victory.

Im not sure how an Allen loss would open up the nomination to a social moderate, but it certainly would bust 08 wide open for the GOP nod.
