Elephant Ears

This blog is dedicated to the political happenings in the Valley and Southwest Virginia. As the the name implies, this blog will have posts based on what is heard by this elephant's (GOPer's) ears. It is also a great treat to get while at the county fair or a carnival.

You Gotta Love The Dems

Drudge has a story about Sen. Daniel Inouye (D) calling on Bush to pull the ads the RNC will be running soon with Howard Dean and a white flag flying in the foreground. The Senator says:
"It may improve the President’s political fortunes, but the American people and our troops will pay the price."
Yeah, and Howard Dean saying we cannot win the war really helps the troops doesn't it?
Its amazing how the dems are so open minded they don't even realize when they are being absolute hypocrites.

Interestingly, Lindsey Graham is also calling on the RNC to remove that ad.

His comment? "We're going to drive a wedge among ourselves that will make the world less safe, including ourselves."

Senator Graham continues to be this blogger's favorite non-Virginia Republican.

I personally am against the ads as well b/c I don't think we should be spending our money this early on something no one will remember by election time anyway.
Even so, Sen. Inouye proves how crazy the dems are these days.

I'm not sure how much the antiwar=coward campaign is really helping the troops when compared to the democrats who, if given the opportunity, would actually bring the troops home.

Well the dems are divided about whether to bring the troops home. Dean wants to but people like Hilary (and I think Kerry) want them to stay and finish the job.
Obviously everyone wants to bring them home, we just disagree on when and under what conditions.

Yeah, i was referring to dems that want to bring them home sooner rather than later. I should have said "those democrats who".

The point I was trying to make (perhaps badly) was that in terms of who is helping the troops and who is hurting them, I'm not sure it's so clear. Perhaps calls for an expedited withdrawal do embolden the enemy (although I'm not sure). But on the other hand we're losing several dozen soldiers a week so what does that say about those who want to keep them there longer? It's a debate worth having and the white flag adds are not helping it.

Certainly both sides have good points and bad ones.
I was merely pointing out the typical way the democrats do things. They say one thing, but dont even realize they are doing exactly what they attack us for doing.
The GOP does it too, but I believe to a much lesser extent.
