Is It Really Over?
Is the budget stalemate really over? It is according to the RTD.
Just yesterday it looked like the negotiators wouldn't be able to get a budget this week, but now it appears they have.
I guess my friend who said this thing would get done this week was sort of right.
The Senate is supposed to go back Monday to pass the budget, with the House doing it Tuesday.

Lowell Fulk has another post and survey on Republitarian
How did the voters in Rockingham not see the obvious difference of candidate quality?

It's been said that Rockingham would vote for Satan if he ran as a Republican and not vote for Christ if he ran as a Democrat. It's an odd place politically ... no women on the Board of Supervisors. Women don't even run. Hopefully in another 10, 20 years the knee-jerk voters will have died off, and people with think before they vote.
I am very heartened that across the country evangelical Christians are seeing that more than bedroom issues matter. If this happens in Rockingham County, we'll get better candidates running as Republicans. Right now the bar isn't very high.

Glad to see places like Alexandria are so progressive a GOPer couldnt win there if it was Christ.
Matter of fact, Christ would probably do worse than typical Republicans.

Nothing was accomplished with this budget. It in no way moves the transportation situation forward.
