Elephant Ears

This blog is dedicated to the political happenings in the Valley and Southwest Virginia. As the the name implies, this blog will have posts based on what is heard by this elephant's (GOPer's) ears. It is also a great treat to get while at the county fair or a carnival.

Hokies Go Bowling

While the wahoos will be staying home.

With our win yesterday, we finish the regular season 10-2 and probably will be headed to the Chick-Fil-A Bowl (Peach) in Atlanta. We will play some team from the SEC, most likely Tennessee.

We also finished with the number 1 defense in the country.

I take one point of solace out of this game. After the thrashing at home last year and the difficulties this year, UVa kept this game within reach almost the whole way. Cannot claim victory, but this game does not bring a sense of devestation either. And five wins still exceeded expectataions. Oh well, guess all that is left now is to start waiting for next season, and enjoying UVa basketball in the meantime.

CRUVA? Kept the game within reach almost the whole way? Did you watch the same game I saw? And to think VT was playing without their main play maker. It would have been worse if Brandon Ore had played. You are right, you can enjoy basketball.

Playing scrubs and 8 home games has the effect of giving you a highly ranked defense. No surprise there.

7:41, Clemson has the 5th best rushing attack with 225 yds/game.
We allowed 80 in that game.

We didnt just build a good defense by only
    shutting down Northeastern and UVa.
