Elephant Ears

This blog is dedicated to the political happenings in the Valley and Southwest Virginia. As the the name implies, this blog will have posts based on what is heard by this elephant's (GOPer's) ears. It is also a great treat to get while at the county fair or a carnival.

What can I say?

UPDATE: The Canes have risen to 3rd in the AP poll and VT has fallen to 8th.
Also, Tyrone Moss is out for the season.

    GO CANES!!

Sorry, GOPHokie... I like your blog and we're on the same side politically... but although I'm from VA and live here now, I went to school at UM. It's a good night to be a Cane!

    Hickory, dickory, dock,
    Miami was cleaning Tech's clock

    The clock struck eleven,
    Tech only had seven,

    If it was a fight,
    it would have been stopped.

    How bout this one:

The Virginia Tech Hokies sat on a wall.

The Virginia Tech Hokies had a great fall.

When the Miami Hurricanes blew into town,

and proceeded to lay the BIG SMACK DOWN.

Actually Brandon, Im surprised. I figured you'd make excuses like you do for MattLore.

Well, when you cant pass, you leave your best RB on the sideline til the 4th qtr and ur defense plays crappy; you tend to not do well.
When you do that against the number 5 team in nation, you tend to get your clock cleaned.
    Simple as that.
BY the way anon, thats fine, your an alum. I wouldnt expect you to root any other way.

As to the excuses for Matt, what excuses have I made?
Most of what I have said has to do with why I think he will win, not why he should win.
The one main reason he should win: I'd rather have a rep that doesn't show up than one who votes against me.

Thanks for the kind words. Being from VA, many of my friends went to VT, while I went down to "Football U"... well, I was there for the "probation years" and we proceeded to lose to you guys every single year I was there! It's good to give a little payback. That was a very big win for the Canes -- definitely the biggest since we won the National Title. I hope you guys get a BCS bid -- more $$ for the ACC.

I hope we do too, but its gonna be close (if he win out). Notre Dame will definitely get a bid, plus its hard to say where we will be when the BCS comes out later today.
Hopefully the SEC can beat each other up a little more. That would greatly help.
One more thing, I want to thank all the Miami fans at the game for their good sportsmanship toward us. They were great. I also want to apologize for the jackasses that some of our fans are.
